I went into Wendy’s office a year and a half ago. I had been to quite a few therapists over my short 25 years of life and I was hopeful but not really expectant. I was very unhappy, on three medications for depression, going through a troublesome relationship and couldn’t get to work very often. Her unique style, that was closer to my beliefs than counselors in the past; the immediate feeling of safety that was created in the sessions; and mainly, the rapid progress that resulted helped change my life. I do believe one must be a willing patient and I was definitely that. I had to look at all sides of what I was doing and what others were doing and had to make choices that were not always easy to make. She’s taught me how to make consistent changes and lead a more balanced life with relationships, work and other activities where frustration, sadness and anger previously existed. My medical doctor even told me he could not believe my progress. Now I am regularly expressing joy, am on the lowest of only one medication, am in a healthy romantic relationship as well as involved in healthy friendships and running my own business. Seeing Wendy has been and continues to be a sanctuary for growth and success.
